TOPCAT Worlds 2021

Liebe TOPCAT-Family,

Wir alle verfolgen, wie die Politik in dieser Zeit um Entscheidungen ringt, das Leben zumindest im Alltäglichen wieder zu normalisieren. Und wir sehen, dass dies nur langsam und schrittweise geschehen wird. Veranstaltungen in Kultur und Sport stehen dabei ganz hinten an. Das ist für uns, die wir eigentlich schon längst gern auf dem Wasser gewesen wären, sehr traurig, aber auch verständlich.
Die Organisatoren der WM in Turawa und die ITCA haben lange abgewogen und uns zu dieser Entscheidung durchgerungen:

Wir verschieben die Topcat Worlds um genau 1 Jahr.

Damit folgen wir anderen Großevents. Selbst die Olympischen Sommerspiele sind auf 2021 verlegt.
Dass die Verschiebung der WM überhaupt möglich ist, das verdanken wir dem überaus großen Engagement unserer polnischen Segelfreunde und dem Jachklub Opole. Sie haben von allen Sponsoren und Partnern die Zusage bekommen, dass sie auch 2021 mit ihnen rechnen können!

Das ist doch eine gute Nachricht!

So lasst uns diese Situation so nehmen, wie sie ist.
Wir werden die Saison beobachten und hoffen, dass einige nationale Meisterschaften und Wochenendregatten und auch kurzfristig durchführbar sind. Im Sommer warten noch ein paar tolle Touren auf uns. Schauen wir mal, was geht.
Wir wünschen Euch, dass ihr und eure Boote fit seid, so dass ihr jeder Zeit aufbrechen könnt.

Dear TOPCAT family!

We all follow how politics struggles to make decisions during this time to normalize life, at least in everyday life. And we see that this will only happen slowly and gradually. Events in culture and sports are at the very back of the queue. This is very sad, but also understandable for those of us who would actually have liked to be on the water long ago.
The organizers of the World Championships in Turawa and the ITCA have weighed up for a long time and have struggled to reach this decision:

We're postponing the Topcat Worlds for exactly one year.

With this we are following other big events. Even the Olympic Summer Games have been postponed to 2021.
That this postponement of the World Championships is possible at all is thanks to the great commitment of our Polish sailing friends and the Jachklub Opole. They have received the promise from all sponsors and partners that they can also count on them in 2021!

That is good news!

So let us take this situation as it is.
We will be watching the season and hope that some national championships and weekend regattas and also at short notice are feasible. There are still some great tours waiting for us in summer. Let's see what works.
We wish you that you and your boats are fit so that you can leave at any time.
